Stardust Dance Company
Mission Statement
To provide professional performing opportunities for students enrolled in the professional/vocational program at The Art of Dance, along with promoting teamwork, commitment, dedication, community values and a keen love of performing.
Performances
Stardust is available to perform at events in the St.Albert/Edmonton area. Please call the studio to inquire at 780.459.8588. Senior Stardust travels every 2 years. Past trips include:
- 2009—Alumni Cruise, Caribbean Princess Cruise Ship
- 2007—2 shows in the main theatre, Carnival Cruise ship the "Glory" to the Eastern Caribbean
- 2005—2 shows at Disneyworld, Orlando and 1 show at Seaworld, Orlando.
- 2003—Disneyland and a show on 3 day Carnival cruise to Mexico
- 2001—2 shows at Disneyworld, Dance Caravan convention and competition
- 1999—Tremaine Dance convention and competition, Las Vegas & 2 shows at Disneyland
- 1997—Disneyland
- 1995—6 shows, Butlins Holiday Resort, Minehead, England
Auditions
Students must have studied ballet and jazz for 6 years and be enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours of ballet, 2 hours of jazz, 1 hour of lyrical a week. Tap is an option/asset.
Only students of the Art of Dance are eligible and are chosen by audition process by the 2 directors of Stardust. If accepted, parents of the successful students must join the Parents' group and participate actively in fund-raising projects. Auditions are held the 1st week of October at the studio.
