COSTUMES FOR COMPETITIONS & FESTIVALS

We are now getting ready to order costumes from the US for competitions and festivals. The children will be measured during their class time and orders will be sent in by November 1st. Once these orders are placed, we are not able to cancel. Therefore, if your child withdraws, you will be responsible for full payment of costumes as of November 1. A costume deposit of $50.00 is due by October 31st for all competition and festival classes. Invoices for these deposits will be in your family envelopes with the next week. Final billing for the balance of the costumes will be done at a later date.

With regards to the fit of the costumes, we can only go by the measurements in the catalogues, and sometimes the fit is not exact. It will be the parent's responsibility to pay for any costume alternations. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

HALLOWEEN

Yes, all ghosts, goblins & witches from classes Grade 1 and under may wear their Halloween costumes to class during the week of Tuesday, October 25 to Monday, October 31. Peanut free factory treats will be handed out by the teachers. ABOLUTELY NO NUTS OR POPCORN ALLOWED IN THE THE STUDIO AT ANY TIME.

CLASS VIEWING DAYS

Our first set of Watching Days are scheduled from the 17th of October through to the 19th of November. We encourage parents to come and view the progress your child is making. Please feel free to video or take photos. We do ask that you keep as quiet as possible so that the students' concentration is not disrupted and siblings should remain seated. Viewing is during your child's regular class time. Please see the bulletin board at the studio for a complete schedule, or check with the front desk.

CLASS REGISTRATIONS

We are no longer taking registrations for our competitive / festival classes. However, we still have room in some of our preschool classes until November 1. they will then be closed until January based on class avilability. Please check ourt our Preschool programs for ballet, jazz, tap, irish, highland and hip-hop. Also we have adult classes--check ot our Adult Zumba!

The Art of Dance is available to rent for workshops, seminars, meetings, exercise classes and rehersals. Huge space available at reasonable cost. Very close to the Henday. Phone 780-459-8588 for further info.

 

The Stardust Dance Company (Students from the professional program) had an amazng time performing 2 shows at Downtown Disney, Florida as well as attending 2 Disney workshops. Disney executives were so impressed with the show and dancers, they were filmed by Disney and have received an open invitation to return. Rise Summer Intensive,  was held at the Art of Dance in August. Art of Dance students who attended were able to take classes with some of the top teachers/choreographers in the U.S and Canada, including Lil C , judge from "So You Think You Can Dance" America, Sarah Dolan, Meghan Lawson just to name a few. WE' GOING TO VEGAS! 
We will be fund-raising this season to attend the 20th Anniversary Dance Power Convention in Vegas this summer. Keep watching the bulletin boards at the studio for more information.
